We were established in Wymondham, Norfolk under the name of Friarscroft Laundry.
The dry-cleaning business was started in 1948. The company now trades under the name of New-Day Cleaners
and has four shops in the cathedral city of Norwich.
We started working with The National Trust Conservation Work Room at Blickling Hall in Norfolk in 1977 when asked by a conservationer if we would clean a mid Victorian bedspread. The skills required to clean old textiles have been mainly perfected thanks to The National Trust, whose textile conservation workshop at Blickling Hall, Aylsham in Norfolk has entrusted us with cleaning many textiles over the last 22 years. Working with them, we have been able to develop the methods of cleaning old textiles, which involves great care being taken at each stage of the cleaning process. This has also enabled us to process small to medium sized antique rugs.
